Waterproof vs water-resistant
AS 3740 distinguishes between areas that must be waterproof (such as shower floors and walls) and areas that must be water resistant (such as the rest of the bathroom floor and some wall areas). The requirements vary with the room layout, the presence of a floor waste and the type of shower. We confirm the requirements for each room before starting.
Timber and sheet substrates
Upper-floor wet areas are often on timber-framed floors with compressed fibre cement or similar sheeting, which move more than concrete. We use flexible, compatible membranes and bond breakers to accommodate this movement.
